Emulation involves a program called an emulator which, suprisingly enough, emulates (does the job of) a console, such as th MegaDrive/Genesis and Nintendo ones on this site. A wide range of others are available, but these I find are the most reliable. The games that run on these emulators are known as ROMS, and there a collection here.
