The west coast of Denmark is characterised by a hundred miles of giant sand dunes, enclosing large so called fjords.
And the wind, let's not forget that.
Passed through the uneventful city of Efsjberg and onto the coast. The cycle route weaves around and up and down the contours of the dunes, which coupled wih the constant headwind makes progress slow. The alternative is the only road, which for once has no adjacent cycle lane and is busy with campervans.
Anyway, this does not last forever and the reward is that when climbing (on foot) a large dune, you are treated to the sight of miles and miles and miles of unspoiled beach. On the inland side of the dunes, miles of small holiday homes, still, better than caravan parks. The thatched cottages gradually replaced with the wood and corrugated iron roof style.

Further north the dunes blend into woodlands which are very nice indeed

Dodging large hairy caterpillars on the tracks

These back country campsites (found courtesy of the app "shelter" ) are great, well I'm trying to pick the ones with a water supply and composting toilet but what I mean is its nice they are provided. The last few all had firewood so I've been having little campfires to try to keep the flying bitey things away. It doesn't get dark till about 11pm. Facilities in general are good, lots of tourist rest stop toilets etc on the road.

Supermarket wise, there must be a fat tax because sweets and chocolate are horrendously expensive, I saw a single mars bar for £4, whereas a cucumber is still about 50p. Beer is expensive, yes and no, since I got a bottle of pilsner in Aldi for 50p.
The best bit is cheese, which they sell in giant hunks of cheddar esque goodness, with strength denoted by different Norse gods. I've got Odin.

Today the wind eased a bit and I got in 136km, which is a lot. Passed the "Dunes of the dead" this morning, where hundreds of bodies from an 1811 British shipwreck are buried.... Somewhere.

This evening cornered the north west point, complete with ww2 gun batteries, though I wish I hadn't explored the docks as the scent of fish is stuck in my nostrils!
